Default A Little Help

I'm going to an event that is a bit dressy and I was looking for ideas on a hairstyle. I have layered, thick curly hair that brushes the tops of my shoulders. My stylist gave me step by step instructions for a hairstyle but my friend who is going with me and would be helping me says their "too complicated". Can someone help me "dumb" this directions down or choose another style that is simple enough that my friend can help me achieve?

Take a quarter inch section behind ear leaving a few curls in front of ear
Use a triangular section, comb up, and twist.
Then separate in half and tie. Do this a total of three times.
Secure with bobby pins
Separate hair in back leaving a quarter in at the bottom.
Comb up, twist, and tie like before.
Take a third quarter inch section
Comb up, twist, and tie.
Be careful to keep splits in the hair covered so that no scalp shows through.
Take a quarter inch section behind ear leaving a few curls in front of ear
Comb up, twist, and tie.

Those directions are a bit complicated. I can not even envision what the end result would look like. Did you get a picture to go by?

Sorry, but i'm in the same boat - I'm not really following them either! If we can see the end result we might be able to give something more basic.

No picture to work with. She took a section of hair and then separated it in two before tying the the two pieces together in a loose knot. She did this three times per section before securing the ends at the crown.

It seems very interesting. I would love to see a picture of it once you get it down packed.

Wow, that seemed a bit confusing. I would love to see the end result and see how it comes out. Sorry I couldn't be of any more help.
