For future reference, there are some great products you can use to help keep your curls in order on the night.

Check out http://www.updoprincess.com/Short_Curly_Hairstyles.html for info.

If you want to keep a curl then the best thing to do is to use a foaming type of mousse then wrap your hair in curlers and sit under the dryer.

Also, if you don't have bangs, you can cheat them! Sweep some hair across the front and pin it.

I know that my hair is really straight and one thing I have found that keeps the curls in is to slightly brush it with my head upside down and then spray it really good with hairspray. That seems to keep the curls in better and longer for me.

My hair usually goes flat within two or three hours, unless I use just one type of hairspray. The brand I use is Aussie, and I think it's called Freeze or something like that. It works really well with curlers.

Make sure your base pins are REALLY secure so you don't have to fiddle with it all night and be sure to take spare pins in case it does go flat!

The hairspray I was thinking of earlier is called Aussie Instant Freeze and it works really good.

Anyway, yes, the pins do need to be very secure or else you will be spending a lot of time messing with it, and potentially ruining the hairstyle.
