Kimmi’s at Home Glam Look: From Wet to Dry

It is never too early to start planning for your special night. Knowing dress color is key when choosing hair color for the prom.

Today's prom hair trends are all soft to the touch chignons, up-do's, bobs, bangs, long glamorous waves and for the already independent and unique “the boy cut is back!”.

Today's looks are achieved with minimum product. Mousse and a medium hold spray will get the finished look. If you want a little more shine, a pea-size amount of serum will give the hair just what it needs.

Hair accessories are still huge this year from iridescent hair bands to bling, bling hair jewels.

Your hair embellishment of choice should be the finishing touch that compliments your complete look.

Must Have Style Steps: Curls

  1. While hair is wet, apply mousse throughout hair, particularly the roots.
  2. Using a round brush dry and shape your bang first.
  3. Blow the rest by finger combing and lifting hair roots in an upward direction for fullness.
  4. When dry, finger comb hair into desired shape.
  5. Select and separate hairpieces in no particular manner to define wave by wrapping hair around your favorite 1 ½ " barrel iron for about 10-15 seconds.

Kimmi recommends:

  • To start, wrap hair around the iron about 1-2 inches from your scalp.
  • For a great natural shine, make sure to use an ionic 1 ½" iron.
  • When wrapping the hair around the iron leave about ½"- 1" of your ends untouched. Instead, finish ends with a molding paste.
  • When done, do not comb out curls. Let the curls cool down and then split neatly, if necessary, by pulling apart slowly from the hair end up.
  • Do not use any hold products until you have finished the final look.
  • To complete the look, use a minimum hold product to make the style look natural not stiff.
