Prom is a very special time in every girl’s life. After all, it’s the one time that you have to dress up, feel like a princess, and then dance the night away. You’ll be sure to cherish those memories, and to fully appreciate them, you’ll need to be sure and have the perfect prom hair. That way, you’ll feel glamorous all night and won’t have to worry about a thing except who you want to dance with next. No matter what your hair looks like now, rest assured that there is a perfect prom do for you.
If you have medium to long hair and don’t want to put up too much of a fuss, you can try the simple style that Taylor Swift wore to her prom. If you have natural curls like Taylor, you’re all set. If not, you’ll need to do some work with big rollers or a curling iron to create large, flowing barrel curls. Then, gather your hair into a ponytail at the very base or nape of your neck. Pull the ponytail through once more to create a loop. Spray with hairspray to hold in place and then take out a couple of curly tendrils to frame each side of your face. This is a great way to show off sparkly prom earrings as well and will give you a soft, sweet look.
For the short haired girls out there, don’t worry. You too can have the look you want. Simply style your hair as you normally would and then dress it up with sparkling hair jewels or other fun accessories. Since you can’t do a ton with your hair, make sure that you focus a lot on your jewelry, make up and accessories. Going light on the fancy hair means you can go heavy on the glamour in other areas! Try a smoky, lined-eye look or just dress up your lips in a bold new color.
For the daring fashionistas looking for something other than traditional prom undo’s, there’s a great new style that Rachel Weisz has recently been spotted wearing. All you have to do is gather your hair so it’s all up near the top of your head. Then, make it into a fancy French braid, going about halfway down for long hair and all the way down for shorter hair. Secure any loose ends with a hair tie and then tuck and pin them under the braid for a kitschy, fun, and incredibly unique prom look.
Just be sure to keep in mind as you prepare for prom that it’s all about how you want to look. You can use one of these hairstyles or dream up one of your own. The only thing we advise is not making any drastic changes right before prom. Going for a new cut or a new color can be a disastrous mistake, especially if you don’t like how it turns out and are stuck with it on your special night. After all, when you look at your prom pictures, you want the person staring back at you to actually look like you!
