Yeah no offense but I agree with the tiaras are a no-no! Unless your queen they look extremely tacky!!!

This is the website with the hairstyle that I think I'm going to use. I don't know if it's what you're looking for though.

Well as a hair stylist I do my step daughters hair every year for prom and homecoming. Traditionally tiara's are just worn by the prom queen, at least in this area. However what I did for her last year was really unique and pretty at the same time. I purchased baby roses from th craft department at walmart they are very tiny and have wires as stems. I mixed up fod coloring to macth her dress perfectly and took a Qtip and very lightly added the color to the tip of the white roses. purchased a pack of the rhinestone hair jewels from claires and alternated the roses and rhinestones. I curled her hair wrapped it into an up do pinning curls in place atop her head then just below the pinned curls I added the roses in rhinestones not quite a tiara but definatly memorable and she recieved loads of compliments. I do no on elses hair on those days I am off work, also best is Aqua net white can with pink then finish it off with glitter spray.

Default Hairstyles for tiaras

Some tiaras are definitely considered royal, such as the one you see at the top of this forum. It is in a style that has always been used by members of royalty all over the world.
However, there are tiaras, that are not only beautiful, but can be worn my anyone, really even if you are not in the court! They look more like garlands of blossoms or tiny berries and they can make a simple hairstyle look absolutely stunning. And doesn't everyone want to look stunning when they are dressed for a special occasion?
You will see what I mean here:

Another option for hair ornamentation is what is called a hairstick. They are specially made sticks with jewels on them and they have the power to make one look quite exotic. You can find these at

These sticks lend themselves to oriental styles, and renaissance styles, you can even wear a simple bun and one of these will make it look very elegant.

What do you think?

Default Half up and Half down Styles Idea

Just an idea for some of you who want a half up and half down hair style. IF you find a pic that is an updo and you like the way it done, but you want your hair down, Take part of your hair into the updo style, and part of your hair as the down style so really you getting two styles into one. Plus you can have your hair straight or curly. Plus you created your own style for prom. Hope you find your style. I know my daughter is wanting a half up and half down style for her prom this year. We have found an updo, but we are going to created a half up half down style with it. And just think you have your own style for prom that you created, but I would suggest carry the two pics to your hair stylist, so she can get an idea of what you want.
